Dr. Atosa Sarrafi, DMD

Dr. Atosa Sarrafi is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable, confident, and cared for. At Smiles of Buffalo Grove, she combines clinical expertise with a personalized approach, taking the time to listen to patients, understand their concerns, and create treatment plans tailored to their individual needs.

Born and raised in Northbrook, Illinois, Dr. Sarrafi earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago before receiving her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. She completed an advanced general dentistry residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York, gaining extensive experience in comprehensive restorative and emergency dentistry. Her background in psychology helps her provide thoughtful, compassionate care, particularly for patients who experience dental anxiety.

Dr. Sarrafi offers a comprehensive range of services, including family, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry. She is committed to continuing education and staying current with modern dental techniques and technology.

Above all, Dr. Sarrafi believes exceptional dentistry begins with trust, communication, and genuine care. Her goal is to create a positive dental experience while helping every patient achieve a healthy, beautiful smile they feel proud to share.

Dr. Asher Ortiz

DMD · General dentistry

Dr. Asher Ortiz earned his dental degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. His approach combines preventive care, patient education and open conversation, helping patients understand their oral health and feel comfortable with their treatment choices.

He plans care around each patient’s individual goals, whether they are visiting for routine prevention or need treatment. He aims to make every step of the process informative and reassuring.

Away from dentistry, Dr. Ortiz enjoys hiking, camping and playing board games with friends.

Dr. Zainab Aslam

DDS · Periodontist

Dr. Aslam earned her DDS at New York University, graduating summa cum laude, then completed three years of specialty training in periodontics at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. During her residency, she participated in a clinical trial examining chlorhexidine and StellaLife® mouthrinse.

Her interests span periodontal treatment, dental implants and gum grafts. She continues her professional education to keep pace with developments in dental care.

Her professional affiliations include the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association and Illinois Society of Periodontists. She was also elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society.

Outside the practice, she spends time with her husband and son and enjoys cycling, basketball and pickleball.

Agnes

Office manager

Agnes has been working alongside Dr. Sarrafi since 2011. She began her studies in Mathematics at Jagiellonian University and has completed numerous hours of continuing education in dental office administration.

Agnes enjoys building meaningful relationships with patients and always goes the extra mile to ensure that each patient’s needs are met. She is passionate about creating a welcoming and comfortable experience for every patient who walks through the door.

In her free time, Agnes loves to travel, spend time with her puppies, go fishing, and support the local arts community.
